Nuvio is an Internet-based phone xervice, also know as "Hosted VoIP" or "Hosted PBX". Nuvio’s fully operational redundant datacenter hosts a “Virtual PBX” with handsets (IP phones) that Nuvio provides, which will connect the customer to the Hosted PBX through a simple Internet connection. Nuvio provides a "virtual PBX " for users for all intents and purposes. This hosted VoIP solution replaces an existing business phone system.
The PBX was designed, developed, and maintained by Nuvio so that customers continually have new features and new upgrades at no additional cost.
Nuvio does provide each customer with a web-based administration tool to configure your virtual PBX over the Internet.
IP phones may connect through a router, or a direct Internet connection. Customers may also take their IP phone anywhere there is a Internet Connection and simply plug it in. The same phone number will ring anywhere you happen to be.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunking is a service that allows organizations to use existing IP-PBX equipment for Voice over IP (VoIP) service. SIP trunking allows for calls to be made outside the existing network using the Internet connection rather than phone lines. SIP trunking can greatly decrease a company's communication costs by eliminating local PSTN, Gateways and PRIs.
SIP trunking works by providing an interface between the internal network (which includes telephony devices) and the external Internet cloud. SIP transmits the information using the SIP VoIP standard, and has the same features of a VoIP telephony service.

Nuvio will provide support tools and initial training for technical support. In addition, we provide an easy API interface for submitting orders to Nuvio, allowing easy integration to existing order systems or customer-facing portals.
We will personalize a portal for customer use and provide an administrative interface for manipulating customer accounts, including common billing related activities. Our carrier customers are free to set the pricing for services.
According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), all organizations should have a disaster preparedness plan or Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) in case of natural disasters or private network LAN/WAN failures. Before IP telephony, it would have been hard to preserve telephone operations during a crisis; circuited-switched telephony systems rely on a direct electrical connection to the local telephone company's central office.
In contrast to traditional telephony systems, Nuvio's nConnect is disaster survivable. The VoIP soft switch platform is based on packet-switching from remote media gateways. This allows you to program your telephone numbers to bypass your telephone system and be switched to other locations. Outgoing calls can also be made from another location or from your computer.
With E911 service, when you dial 911, your telephone number and registered address is simultaneously sent to the local emergency center assigned to your location, and emergency operators have access to the information they need to send help and call you back if necessary.
Nuvio will attempt to procure a directory listing for your Nuvio service. However, our ability to obtain a directory listing will be dependent upon the listing CLEC, as well as their rules and guidelines for listing such directories. Recent activity required that all directory listings must have an address that corresponds to the exact rate center for which a number is serviced out of. While this usually does not present any problems, in larger metropolitan areas, multiple rate centers may appear to be local and/or have the appearance of being in the same city. However, there is a distinction and most of our CLECs will not allow a cross jurisdictional listing. For example, having a phone number that comes from a Hollywood rate center would preclude a listing in southern Los Angeles County. The listing must be in the Hollywood physical rate center service area.
Our employees play a huge role in the continued success of our company. From engineering to marketing, and from operations to administration, we are always looking for talented individuals to join the Nuvio family.
